Course 1: Visual Storytelling (5 ECTS)
The objective of the Visual Storytelling course is to give students basic knowledge on and skills in producing sharply structured narratives in living images and sound.
Students will be trained in finding the focus of a story, they will be introduced to dramaturgic models and structuring tools, and will work with character development schemes. Furthermore, they will train scriptwriting.
On the technical side students will look at and work with visual component, and they will get basic instruction and training in camera work, sound recording and editing skills.
Course 2: Immersive Documentary (10 ECTS)
A core of both the feature journalism and documentary genres is the ambition to make viewers immerse themselves into compelling stories from the real world. Aiming at taking their storytelling skills to an advanced level, students will work with the conventions and dramaturgic tools of these genres when it comes to structure, character development and storytelling mode. Furthermore, the course will train students story planning skills both concerning pre- and postproduction. Last but not least, students are to gain insight into the nature of the newest immersive storytelling technologies, Virtual Reality and 360-degree video, both from a dramaturgic and a technical point of view.
On the technical side the course will encompass workshops on advanced editing, sound and colour grading and on the newest immersive storytelling technologies. Tuition in class will be supported by the use of e-learning tutorials
Course 3: Corporate Communication (10 ECTS)
The main goal of the course is to equip the students with the skills necessary to develop and solve communication projects for companies and organizations based on an understanding of the company’s or organization’s overall communication strategy and values.
The students will gain knowledge of the theories and concepts on which organizational and strategic communication is based and will cultivate the tools needed to decode the values and policies that are arranged within communication/ public relations. These include tools for the analysis and assessment of communications products, market segments and target groups. As a result, students are expected to be able to analyse the company's/organization's identity and goals and subsequently address both in their communication assignment.
The students will also take on a practical task, which will entail working in close cooperation with external clients, with the aim of gaining an understanding of the "real life" framework that informs the development and production of communication tasks in companies and organizations. This will provide the students with individual "practical experience" in preparation for the impending internship. The students will be required to produce a video/TV production which must be submitted either as completed feature / program or as a partially completed dummy accompanied by a description of the concept / format for the overall solution. The clients will subsequently provide feedback and critique the product and process.
Term examination (5 ECTS)
The term examination will consist of a written academic essay based on courses and literature from the semester.
Extern censoring will examine the material delivered by the student.
Learning-by-doing in is central in this course. You will get to use journalistic and communicative methods and theory in a practical production environment.
Teamwork is a central part of the study method. In the majority of the semester you get to work with fellow students in different group settings.
Class size is from 15-40 students depending on the course.
Classes are mixed with Danish and international students. You will work in groups or individually depending on the assignment.
Requirements and tuition
To apply for the programme in TV and Media Production you must:
- have completed at least 1 year's tuition in media production at BA level.
- have knowledge of the basic elements of TV production and journalistic methods.
- be familiar with technology such as computers and cameras.
- have a good command of either Adobe Premiere, Avid Media Composer or FCPX.

The tuition fee is 4500 € for this course
