Kelley Benham French
Kelley Benham French, an award-winning writer and editor, has just joined the journalism faculty at Indiana University, where she will teach writing as a professor of practice. French worked at the Tampa Bay Times (formerly the St. Petersburg Times) for ten years, winning numerous national awards. In 2013, she was a Pulitzer finalist for her narrative series, Never Let Go, a three-part account of the desperate fight for the life of her micro preemie daughter, who was born at 570 grams. Two series she edited at the Times -- For Their Own Good and Winter's Tale -- were also Pulitzer finalists. In her spare time, French teaches at the Poynter Institute and at conferences and in newsrooms around the world.
