Reunited ten years after "life-changing" studies at DMJX

You form bonds for life on the international master's program Mundus Journalism. Recently, former students traveled to Aarhus from all over the world to celebrate their 10th anniversary.

Man knytter bånd for livet på den internationale kandidatuddannelse i journalistik, Mundus Journalism. For nylig rejste tidligere studerende til Aarhus fra hele verden for at fejre 10-års jubilæum.

At DMJX, we are proud to be a partner in the international master's program in journalism "Mundus Journalism" in collaboration with Aarhus University and the EU program Erasmus+. The first year of the program takes place in Aarhus, after which the students in the second year travel to partner universities in Amsterdam, Prague, London and Munich to further specialize in topics within journalism, media and globalisation.

It is clear to us that there is a very special atmosphere on the Mundus courses when we have them here at DMJX in Aarhus. However, we were still surprised that the bonds formed among the students are so strong that we were able to welcome 32 former students this weekend because they had chosen to travel to Aarhus from all over the world to celebrate their 10-year reunion since the beginning of their studies on the Mundus program in 2014.

One of the former Mundus students on the 2014 course, Amélie Drouet, now works as a communications consultant in Aarhus and has helped organize the reunion. We asked her what's special about the Mundus program since they're still in touch after ten years, and we're almost blown away by her fine answer:

- Mundus was a life-changing experience for all of us. It was something very special to sit in a room with 73 people from 41 different countries and discuss the world's big issues. At least I can clearly remember that from day one. We recreated that experience at the reunion with a presentation from our legendary professor Hans-Henrik Holm on how the world order has changed in the last ten years. And I think that the fact that we have experienced the long, dark Danish winter together has also drawn us closer to each other. So both professionally, personally and culturally, the Mundus program is an intense experience and memories that we share with each other and would like to keep celebrating.

Congratulations to the Mundus 2014 class on your 10 year anniversary and hopefully lifelong friendships 🤝
