50 students from more than 20 different countries started the introduction week at the Journalism School with an introduction to the concrete building and Aarhus last Monday. The Danish School of Media and Journalism is offering five different semester programmes in journalism and photojournalism this fall. The biggest group represented nationality wise is the Australians. 8 Australian students from the four partner institutions of the Global Environmental Journalism Initiative (GEJI) (see www.GEJIWEB.org) have come up from down under to study the international semester programme which concludes in a multimedia production where they have to cover environmental issues. All students were introduced to environmental issues on the Aarhus City Council Agenda when they visited the City hall during the introduction week. With the COP 15 Climate conference in Copenhagen in December climate issues are expected to be one of the most covered themes this semester.
