Advanced Visual Storytelling

 

Overview

This advanced photojournalism semester offers you a chance to study in Denmark together with a class of Danish students of photojournalism. The Danish students attending this program are at their final semester of a four-year study.

 

The Danish School of Media and Journalism runs two international programs in
photojournalism: The Language of Photojournalism is a course in general photojournalism whereas Advanced Visual Storytelling is our high level program.

 

 

Course aims

As a result of this semester you can achieve the following goals:

 

  • Learn about other and new ways of using photojournalism.

  • Learn how to combine theory about photojournalism with practical work.

  • Work on a project together with other photojournalists.

academic requirements

Students must have a minimum of two years training and/or experience in journalism/photojournalism. It is an advanced undergraduate program.

 

It is necessary to have passed The Language of Photojournalism to attend Advanced Visual Storytelling. If you have attended another basic photojournalism study at another school you can also apply for Advanced Visual Storytelling.

 

 

Language requirements

All courses are taught in English. Participants must have a good command of the English language, both written and oral.

 

Non-native English speakers should include a copy of their TOEFL test  results (minimum score 550 or computer based 60)/ IELTS test  of 6.5 or have the test results sent to our address).

 

 

TUITION FEE

 

You do not have to pay tuition fee if one of the following conditions applies:

 

 

You have to pay a tuition fee of Euro 3500 per semester if one of the following conditions applies:

 

  • You are a student from a non-EU country

Deadlines:

 

  • 15 April for fall semesters
  • 15 October for spring semesters

 

Application process:

 

  • Right after the application deadline we confirm reception of your application by email.

  • About 2 weeks after the application deadline, you will receive either a rejection or a confirmation of participation by email. If you need a more formal letter of admission besides the conformation email, please inform us.

  • Shortly afterwards all students who need a residence permit will receive a visa application package . Remember to apply for your Danish residence permit when you receive the visa application package – it might take up to 2 months to get a Danish residence permit.

  • 1 –2 months before semester start, you will receive an email with course relevant information/course programs and practical arrival information from our international department.

We offer 8 places for international students, mainly from our partner institutions.
