why study at dmjx?

Teachers are experienced journalists and photo-journalists

Teachers at DMJX have extensive practical and academic experience. Most of our staff have been (or are) working as journalists at senior level.

Hands-on education at eye level

DMJX has a hands-on approach to teaching. Each course involves a number of practical assignments. You can find examples of students’ work (video, audio, web-articles, photo etc.) in the menu under "STUDENTS' WORK".

Access to technical equipment

TV, radio and photo productions requiring technical equipment that students can use. DMJX provides hand held cameras and audio recorders to the students. The school is equipped with studios and class rooms with access to Mac computers and updated editing software.

Small classes with extensive feedback and coaching

Classes at the international BA level have in the range of 8 to 25 students. Extensive feedback and coaching is given by the teacher and fellow students.

Study tours

Several international programs contain study tours in Denmark and/or to other European countries as part of the course work.

Mentoring provides safe start

Students are upon arrival in Århus met by a fellow student – a mentor.

Before arrival, students will receive an email with admission letters, course information, practical arrival and housing information and contact info of the Danish mentors.

The mentors will hand over the key to their new Århus address, help them get settled, help them get registered at the different authorities, arrange social gatherings for the international students to get to know each other before the study programs begin.

Extensive experience with international programs

DMJX has more than 15 years of experience with participating in international programs, building strategic partnerships, exchanging teachers with international partner universities etc. See list of partners and programs
